LOGEX AI Hackathon: A Day of Ideas, Innovation, and Impact

This year for the first time ever, LOGEX hosted an internal AI Hackathon: a one-day event where eight teams came together to explore how artificial intelligence could help us turn data into better healthcare. The result? Eight fresh, creative concepts that reflect the ingenuity and collaborative spirit of our people.

This Hackathon was all about giving space to ideas. And the ideas came fast. Some teams focused on improving internal processes, finding smart ways to make our work more efficient and impactful:

  • Ticket Prioritiser: A tool designed to automatically assess and prioritise support tickets, helping teams respond faster and more effectively.
  • Datasource Update Grabber: An agent that monitors external data sources for updates and sends automated notifications, reducing manual checks and keeping our data fresh.
  • Netsuite Timewriter: A smart assistant that connects calendar events, tickets, and project codes to suggest weekly time entries, streamlining the process of logging hours.
  • Task Grabber: A solution that unifies tasks from emails, tickets, and other sources into one centralised to-do list, using AI to parse and prioritise.
  • App Insights Monitor: An autonomous agent that analyses system logs, detects anomalies, and sends alerts, ultimately helping teams stay ahead of issues before they escalate.

Other teams looked outward, imagining how AI could support healthcare professionals and researchers:

  • Medical Transcriber: A conceptual tool that transcribes doctor-patient conversations and generates medical notes and prescriptions, aiming to reduce administrative burden.
  • Clin Trial Assistant: An AI agent that analyses clinical trial data, generates visualisations, and provides insights to support market research and strategic planning.
  • Nightingale Knowledge Bot: An AI assistant designed to help users navigate and interact with our data platform, Nightingale, more intuitively and efficiently.

This approach can help organisations to:

  • Respond more quickly to changes in demand, policy, or resource availability
  • Make better decisions based on current insights
  • Align departments around a shared financial and operational view
  • Build next year’s budget without starting from scratch each time

Each concept was developed in just one day, yet every team managed to deliver a working demo, a clear use case, and a vision for how AI could make a difference, whether inside LOGEX or beyond.

The Hackathon was a powerful reminder of what happens when people are given the freedom to experiment, collaborate, and think creatively. It’s not just about building prototypes but about empowering creative thinking.

We’re proud of every team that participated and excited to see how these ideas evolve. Whether they become internal tools, spark new projects, or simply inspire future thinking, they’re all part of our journey to make data work for better healthcare
