'Textbook Outcome' is a new type of analysis providing insight in the health care quality for a specific intervention. The analysis is based on current and existing registration of the hospital information system. Therefore, it is immediately comprehensible and does not require extra registration. A smart comparison of the local score with the benchmark (corrected for casemix) makes the improvement potential per indicator easily comprehensible – including the differentiation per patient group and per specialist.
